At first, The Nevermore Festival looked like most film
festivals. Lots of cool posters.
We interviewed "Darkness" director Leif Jonker
in the lobby of the Carolina Theatre.
Then we began to notice something strange.
In our pictures, Leif seemed stained with some kind of
goo.
Then Allan's cape looked dipped in blood.
Maybe it's the lighting. I try a flash shot.
The gore is still there.
The guys selling T-shirts have no idea what's going on.
What are those strange archways in the background? And
where do they lead?
We thought our memory stick might be fried.
But this picture taken the next day, with a different
stick, shows the same effects.
In fact, this skeleton looks like it's growing hair.
Someone said it was the tungsten lights that caused the
strange effects.
Or was it the guy from the Rhine
Research Center, Institute for Parapsychology?
Note the bright white spot in the middle of his head. No one else had that.
And if it was the lights, why does this picture taken
in the lower lobby exhibit this strange effect?
These are the folks from Chapel
Hill Comics who sponsored "Darkness:
The Vampire Version" at Nevermore.
Vanessa Neal appears to be protected by a (psychic?)
force field.
Then we noticed this cat. It seems to be emitting a stream
of purple protoplasm...
Looks a little mean.
And if the inside lights caused the effects, how do you
explain
the strange smears on the Marriott next door?
And the green goo on the frozen fountain?
Quoth the Raven:
Nevermore
Visit the Carolina
Theatre for next year's Nevermore to see if the haunting continues.
